Suzie joined the firm as a paralegal in July 2018 after completing both the law conversion and Legal Practice Certificate with a Distinction. She started a Training Contract with the firm in February 2019 and qualified in February 2021.
Suzie holds a first class BA in English Literature and Applied Psychology and an MSt in Women’s Studies from Oxford University. During her time at Oxford she was a keen rower and on the organising committee for the Women’s Liberation Movement @ 40 Conference.
Suzie is committed to fighting inequality and injustice and is an active volunteer. She has provided vocational support at the Skylight Centre of the homelessness charity Crisis. In 2015, while volunteering at Maternity Action, she was involved in organising a number of events including those to lobby Government to tackle maternity discrimination in the workplace. Suzie was also involved in the launch of the charity’s advice line for women facing charges for their NHS maternity care. Working on this particular project was the trigger for her to return to education with the eventual aim of qualifying as an immigration solicitor
In 2017, Suzie volunteered with Hackney Community law Centre where she gained invaluable experience working on a variety of cases, including those for victims of trafficking and unaccompanied asylum-seeking children. In the same year Suzie was also elected Trustee and Treasurer for Tyssen Community School PSA in Hackney.
As an associate solicitor Suzie has developed a strong reputation for her legal skills and is particularly well regarded by her clients who praise her for her hands on approach and reliability. One happy client commented: ‘She delivered on all grounds, and I won my case. Although she said it was my win, I could not have done it without her and her firm. As an Associate Solicitor now, you couldn’t ask for a better immigration lawyer!”
Suzie is also responsible for the LTP training programme and along with our training partner is eager to reach out in the community to encourage greater diversity and inclusion in the legal sector.
Suzie is a keen cyclist and can often be seen around North and East London on her bike.
