Joe joined Luqmani Thompson & Partners in 2017 and qualified as a solicitor in November 2019. He is currently the deputy supervisor in our public law department. Joe works across a wide area of immigration and public law practice and is particularly committed to holding public institutions to account. He enjoys finding solutions to the complex and challenging problems which clients can face.
Joe graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Law in 2013. The following year, he graduated with a first class LL.M from the same institution, being awarded the George Long Prize for Jurisprudence. While at university, Joe contributed towards the work of the Cambridge Pro Bono Project, helping to create a research memorandum submitted to the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
Before joining Luqmani Thompson & Partners, Joe spent 18 months working as a Business Development Consultant, where he gained valuable experience working with local authorities, charities and social enterprises, helping them to design and win funding to deliver public services. Joe has also provided pro bono legal advice, while volunteering as a Student Director at the BPP Legal Advice Clinic.
Joe has conduct of his own caseload, while also assisting other members of the LTP team. Joe is accredited to Level 2 of the Law Society’s Immigration and Asylum law scheme and, to his eternal shame, is an avid Tottenham Hotspur fan.
