Paralegal role
Luqmani Thompson & Partners is a mixed legal aid and private immigration, nationality and public law practice ranked annually for our immigration work by Chambers and Partners UK for over 20 years.
We are a small and focused team whose work covers the full range of immigration, asylum and nationality law including EUSS schemes, business and personal migration and protection and human rights. Our work encompasses routine immigration applications as well as contentious litigation including appeal work and judicial review.
We are seeking a paralegal to provide administrative support to fee earners. The role will focus on office management and administrative tasks such as preparing letters and documents for client files and assisting with our case management.
Applicants need to demonstrate their excellent oral and written communication skills. In addition, applicants should be highly organised, computer literate and will also need to demonstrate a commitment to social impact work.
This offer is for a fixed 12 month contract and is subject to a 2 month probationary period.
We offer a competitive salary (£21,000 p.a base depending on experience and whether IAAS accredited) and 5 weeks’ holiday. This role allows for the possibility of progression, subject to excellent performance, including support towards qualifying as a Senior Caseworker and qualification as a solicitor.

Our work encompasses routine immigration applications as well as contentious litigation including appeal work and judicial review.
We are seeking committed qualified individuals (0-3 years PQE) to join our team.
Applicants need to demonstrate their excellent oral and written communication skills. You will need to be computer literate and able to manage your own case load effectively in a manner compliant with our operating practices and policies and LAA contract requirements.
Applicants will also be expected to demonstrate a track record of meeting time recording and income targets and will be expected to evidence that they are accredited under the Law Society IAAS as a Level 2 Senior Caseworker and have completed the required CPD for re-accreditation.
Experience in publicly funded immigration work is essential. Experience in public law including judicial review is desirable.
The role is permanent, subject to passing a 3 month probationary period.
We offer a competitive salary (depending on experience but £26,500 p.a. base) and 5 weeks’ holiday with scope for flexible working arrangements (up to two days per week working from home) after passing probation. This role allows for the possibility of progression to the role of supervisor for appropriate candidates.
